GB3JB was switched back on at 12:30 local time, this afternoon, Tuesday 12th February.
It's NOT at full power - just about 15 watts ERP, in the current configuration.
The replacement antenna has less gain than the damaged one it replaced. So signals may be down a bit.
Don't forget this will mean that you will also be a bit weaker into the repeater. Don't panic, we are only talking about a couple of dB's, but there will be a difference, probably only really noticeable on signals that were previously a bit noisy.
The replacement antenna, is on the temporary mast, so it is at just about 20 feet agl, as the previous installation.
Thanks to John, G0VPJ, who drove up from Verwood, to assist me.
The batteries seem to be OK, but I'm hoping we have bit of a blow over the next couple of days, just to get the 24 volts up a bit from it's nominal level.
Hopefully we will be able to press on with the fabrication of the new base for the tower, in the not too distant future.
Cheers & 73's
Dave, G3ZXX.
