Hi All,
I went to the site again today, to have a look at the batteries.
The turbine, is just about keeping on top of things. Although the d.c. rail has dropped a bit.
On full TX load it's now down at 23.8 volts. On RX, squelched, it's sitting at 24.2 volts. This is of slight concern, but I'll keep an eye on it.
I have noticed that as soon as the d.c. output from the controller reaches around 24.7 volts, the turbine kicks round out of the wind, and slows. This could well be to do with the electrical breaking circuit, causing the turbine blades to stall.
There are a couple of preset potentiometers on the board, so it may be a simple adjustment, to increase this voltage.
I'll see if I can get a copy of the circuit diagram, from the suppliers. I think they owe me at least one ... !!!!!!
I understand that they are shipping me a new controller, but have not yet been advised that it has been shipped.
Where I had been re-installing the equipment, I had used some fairly long rf cables. Longer than necessary. This was to facilitate the use of power meters, for setting up levels. I have also replaced these with shorter one's, today, having re-checked the power settings.
Cheers & 73's
Dave, G3ZXX.
