Hi All,
Yesterday (Thursday) actually gave me the few hours of dry WX I was hoping for.
David G0AYD, and myself managed to get the preparation work more or less completed, i.e. moving the turbine support mast to the other end of the barn, and getting the power feed to the batteries modified from the DC feed to the now required 3 phase. The output from the new turbine is 3 phase, instead of DC.
This move also meant that we have been able to reduce the cable length from the turbine, to the batteries etc., by about 75%.
Fortunately the 60A armored cable, had 4 cores, so no new cable was needed for the change from DC to a 3 Phase feed.
We also got the batteries and the 3 phase rectifier, installed into the battery cabinet.
We ran out of time and good weather, so the turbine itself did not get installed. Unfortunately, the turbine has to be the last bit of the system to be installed.
Anyway. More progress achieved.
If anyone is any good at controlling the weather, can you please ensure that on the 9th, we only have:
1. Clear Blue Skies2. Warm Sunshine3. No Wind, at all.4. No Rain5. etc.,
Keep your fingers crossed, for the 9th.
Cheers & 73's
Dave, G3ZXX.
